Severn advances power industry ambitions with A-T Armaturen acquisition

Control valve engineering company Severn Glocon Group has acquired a majority shareholding in A-T Armaturen- Technik GmbH. Now trading as Severn A-T Armaturen, the business is an expert in engineered valves for thermal power applications such as turbine bypass and feedwater heater bypass. It specialises in severe service control valves and special high-pressure isolation valves. The firm has more than 45 years’ experience in the sector, and all valves meet strict regulations of the German Industrial Safety Authority (TUV). Its products complement Severn Glocon Group’s existing portfolio of valves and advanced engineering services, strengthening and extending the group’s power industry offering. Following the acquisition, Severn Glocon Group appointed Peter Borzsony as general manager for its overall power business. Mr Borzsony brings more than three decades of experience in the power industry coupled with a long-standing specialisation in control valves. He is responsible for driving the Severn A-T

Harnessing this ethos in one unified business will allow us to develop powerful new solutions to maximise valves’ reliability and overcome some of the enduring process challenges of power generation.” Since 2012 the group has acquired and integrated four businesses, strengthening its position in high growth sectors such as subsea oil and gas.

Evaluations were conducted in Ukraine by the official representative of the German certification group TÜV SÜD, Technical & Management Services (TMS).
