Tailor drawn tubes Against the background of increasing requirements for lower weights in the automotive industry, the ‘tailor drawn tube’ technique becomes more important. The methods for the production of these special tubes have up to now only been applied experimentally, and are therefore labour-intensive. According to Bültmann GmbH, the increased demands for narrow tolerances can be fulfilled by current technical possibilities only with difficulty; it is not possible to achieve a ‘steady’ process reliability based on the existing technology.
