Magma Global has announced the completion of the first DNV GL qualification of a thermoplastic composite pipe (TCP) intervention line under DNVGL-RP-F119. Third-party verification was provided by DNV GL. The qualification covers m-pipe as an intervention line for dynamic surface to seabed applications. DNV GL project manager Ramin Moslemian said, “The DNVGL-RP-F119 thermoplastic composite pipe was developed in conjunction with oil and gas operators and contractors to specifically meet the needs for cost- efficient and reliable solutions. There is a great potential for TCPs to deliver lightweight, non-corrosive pipeline solutions, and qualification according to DNVGL-RP-F119 provides a robust

The McElroy Acrobat – a hydraulic butt fusion machine used in constructing plumbing and mechanical systems – is also available for the underground/ construction industry. The Acrobat 180 butt fuses 63 to 180mm (2" IPS to 6" DIPS) HDPE pipe and fittings. The lightweight machine can be carried from joint to joint and is suitable for in-ditch work and tie-in fusions. It can function in tight spaces by removing the base and converting the carriage from four to three jaws. The top jaws can be removed for easier manipulation around pipe and fittings.
