Polypropylene pipes for smooth-flowing sewer project

fibre reinforced plastic pipes are potable water, irrigation, sewerage, drainage, cooling, submarine, re-lining and jacking systems. The pipes are manufactured in diameters ranging from 300mm to 3,000mm. Stiffness classes are 2500, 5000, 10000 and working pressure up to 32 bar. The glass fibre reinforced plastic pipes are manufactured in accordance with ISO, BS, ASTM, TS, and AWWA standards, or to customers’ technical requirements. Superlit also has the ISO 9001 Quality Management Certificate issued by the German TUV. HDPE pipes are offered to gas and water markets, with diameters from 16mm to 800mm, and working pressure up to 32 bar. Corrugated pipes are available in a range of diameters from 150mm to 600mm, for usage in sewerage, drainage, non-pressure and industrial drainage systems. The company can also provide technical assistance, and supervise unloading, stockpiling, laying, assembling and first field-testing.

Borealis, a plastics solutions specialist, has supplied plastics processor Rehau with BorECO ™ BA 212E, a highly developed polypropylene (PP) for pipe systems. Rehau was faced with the challenge of installing a smooth-flowing sewerage system in the residential area of Traiskirchen, Austria, during the winter season, and benefited from BorECO’s features, which include low weight, high stiffness, durability and good impact resistance even at low temperatures. Mr GuidoKania, Rehau’s seniormanager, research and development, commented, “The wintry weather during installation plus the cold conditions facing the pipes once underground meant that a heavy duty solid wall pipe with high ring stiffness and good cold climate performance had to be used. In com- bination with the community’s demands for a sewer pipe system with good corrosion resistance and long-term per- formance, we felt that Borealis’ BorECO was the ideal material to produce our Awadukt PP sewer pipe system.”

concrete pipes allowed the construction company fast and cost-efficient pipe laying in the trench, even for large pipes with thick walls. Smooth installation at the trench was assisted by the high ring stiffness and jointing flexibility of the finished pipes. Rehau used a safety-lock pushfit system to ensure both quick installation and long-term performance.

PE, PVC and PPRC pipe and joints Aydin Plastik, Turkey, serves customers in both domestic and international markets with its experience in the plastic sector. The company uses up-to-date technology with qualitative production which is sensitive to the environment. The company’s wide product range caters to building, industry and agriculture, and includes hoses, polyethylene pipes, and pipe and joints made from PE, PVC or PPRC. Aydin Plastik’s PVC waste water pipes and joints feature slider-gaskets and are designed to be easy to fit. The pipes and joints have smoother inner and outer surfaces, low levels of corrosion and calcify at zero level which prevents blockage, so that leak-free, fast and continuous flow of liquids can be achieved. The material used in the PVC pipes and joints is non-flammable, unless directly exposed to fire. The company’s PPRC pipes are used in building installation and heating sys- tems, and are easy to fit, light to handle and feature smooth inner surfaces to prevent calcification. The pipes are resistant to chemicals, and do not affect the quality of the transferred liquids.

The low weight of pipes made from BorECO PP compared to traditional

Manila Water’s decision to switch from PVCu to PE as its preferred pipe material has brought about a change in the products it sources from pipe joint and repair specialist Viking Johnson. A recent supply contract for the Philippines water company specified AquaFast couplings and flange adaptors in place of the MaxiFit range it previously used. AquaFast couplings and adaptors are designed for both polyethylene and PVCu pipe connections, including PE/PVC transitions. The MaxiFit is a wide tolerance range suitable for use with PVCu, steel, ductile iron, cast iron and asbestos cement pipe materials.
