This proves to be very useful during maintenance tasks, where the operator can access the software directly on his mobile devices. Also, allowing both the client and server application to run on both Microsoft and Linux operating systems. Being the system designed to connect a multitude of clients, the data level is abstracted from the specific machine or PLC, so that data can be seen from any number of them concurrently without burdening the communication with the PC. Modularity OTOMES modular architecture offers structured software modules that address specific production needs. The modules are plugins that are installed on a homogeneous interface that serves as a plugin container. Production control OTOMES can control the entire production process, from the entry of the raw material in the company process until the release of the finished goods. Traceability It keeps trace of the production history of every single released product adding the process performances parameters and the quality tests results. OTOMES knows real-time order status on all the plant’s machines and consequently allocates collected production parameters to the specific on-going order, whether it is a job order or product batch. For example, in an annealing furnace it is possible to access the processing times and the oven temperatures for each batch.

Tracking system Thanks to the deep designing and producing level 1 automation system know-how, Fives OTOMES tracking system directly connects to field PLCs, uploads and records process lines performances in terms of production speed, downtime and scrap consumption. Downtime This module records the reasons of the stoppages using a tree structure allowing the operator to easily find out the correct reason to select from lists associated to specific production lines, depending on its peculiar process. It allows the data warehouse to make a precise analysis finding out critical issues and improving the overall efficiency. Quality By means of this module, OTOMES collects all the quality data and quality test results from the field, performing constant data validation against the targets. the quality data is linked to the running products and line performances. Documentation Document management module runs transversally and includes a document delivery feature to all the system users, such as new releases of quality procedures. Maintenance An advanced module able to plan, schedule and manage the maintenance process of the entire company, such as utilities, consumables and process lines. In combination with the tracking system, it optimises the maintenance operation, reducing the downtime and increasing the OEE. Energy module OTOMES energy module allows the customer to monitor and reduce the energy consumption, in combination with the optimisation of the line set-up.
