In the Danfoss Power Solutions article, for example, written by Gabriella Paranyi, EMEA marketing communication manager at the company, she discusses how the design engineer must think about the potential for a hydraulic tube- fitting system to retain its functionality even after a torpedo strike when used in defence applications. When someone describes an engineering product as leak free, we all take it for granted, but it really can be a matter of life or death. The Tata Steel article is also fascinating in that it offers such an inspiring philosophy. During the recent disruption around the world, caused mainly by Covid-19, the company has seized the opportunity to refine and improve many of its processes and also to research areas of improvement that it usually would not have time to look at in such depth.
