Welder SiC MOSFET technology ELESTAR IHT, a specialist in induction heating since 1995, manufactures and installs systems for longitudinal welding of steel pipes, using HFI SiC MOSFET technology (silicon carbide transistors). The company recently installed a Welder SiC generator for contact welding of conical steel poles, used for street lighting. This is the first of an order of three Welder SiCs and three induction heaters, to keep the poles straight. Another five Welder SiC models have also been sold to produce aluminium welded pipe and profile. The quality of the products combined with the continuous research and improvement of new solutions has allowed Elestar to weld ferritic and austenitic stainless steel tubes, copper and brass. Using the SiC technology for several years has allowed Elestar to design small cabinets that can also be used in a small space. Elestar induction generators are de- signed to withstand harsh environments and provide high quality products. Rolling plates with high precision AN oil and gas infrastructure services company in Asia has placed its trust in Davi, with two machines purchased in the last few months from the Italian company. An angle roll machine is being delivered for installation, while a four-roll plate roll with a capacity of 3,000 x 45mm has also been started up. Using this plate roll, the client is rolling pieces within the framework of an important oil storage tank production Atomat helps to keep the impor tant Giana SpA production facility in Italy

The systems are suitable for maxi- mising efficiency and creating a more effective production line. In addition to induction welding generators, Elestar produces in-line induction heating systems for any grade of stainless steel tubes (bright annealing), ranging from 30 to 600kW.

began in the 1990s, resulting in the takeover by Atomat in 2013 and the signing of a business lease agreement in 2017 – moves that have made it possible to keep a major brand and its manufacturing activities entirely in Italy. Atomat has a tradition in the design and production of machine tools dating back half a century, and its Remanzacco plant includes departments specialising in mechanical processes such as

ATOMAT, based in Italy, has taken over the established Giana SpA of Magnago (MI) brand, once a world leader in machine tools. In June, Giana SpA’s entire production facility was transferred from Magnago to the Atomat plant in Remanzacco. In the 1950s, Giana SpA’s machining workshops became established on a worldwide scale in the design and production of high-precision machine tools and, in particular, in the production of large lathes. However, as has often been the case in Italy’s recent industrial and economic history, the difficulties arising from generational transitions, the recession of the past ten years and fierce competition from international markets meant that Italy has faced losing most of its prestigious brands. The operation carried out by Atomat reverses this trend of big Italian firms either going out of business or falling into foreign hands and being moved to another country. The acquisition of the Giana SpA brand, and the company’s assets, is the final stage in a collaboration that
