QUAKER Chemical Corporation and Houghton International have combined to create Quaker Houghton, a global leader in industrial process fluids to the primary metals and metalworking markets. Along with the new name, the company has revealed a new logo and brand representing the combined companies. The combined $1.6bn revenue company employs 4,000 associates serving 15,000 customers worldwide. Quaker was founded in 1918 and Houghton in 1865. “We are rooted in companies commonly acknowledged as authorities in industrial fluids and valued experts in customer processes,” said Michael F Barry, chairman, chief executive officer and president of the new company. Mr Barry, who previously served Quaker Chemical in similar capacities, AN organisation located in Tyneside, UK, but with its roots in Germany, is celebrating 50 years in business. Based at theWatermark in Gateshead, RTR GmbH & Co KG is an independent international specialist supplier of steel pipes, tubes and pipe fittings primarily for the power generation industry. RTR engages with clients to source specified products from its international supply chain. It also offers a comprehensive project management service, managing the technical implementation of projects including the detailed and intensive monitoring of all manufacturing and delivery schedules.
