extra seating areas at the heart of the building. Some EWM employees still currently work at different locations in Mündersbach, but once the new spaces have been built they will all be based in one location. This will leave the existing EWM locations free for manufacturing welding technology. Close to the new administration building, EWM is constructing another production and logistics hall. The company has already made headway on the preparation work for the 3,000m 2 building. The top floor will be a logistics centre with a finished goods warehouse and shipping department. The ground floor will be dedicated to fully automated production of the company’s products. A modern co-generation power plant will allow the site to produce its own power. The lighting in the new facility will be precisely controlled and based on the amount of daylight available. Once the buildings have been officially opened in 2019, a driverless transportation system will operate autonomously and take the finished welding machines to the storage area.
