Sandvik looks to ‘solve corrosion with science’ at Eurocorr 2018

industries. Sandvik states that due to its corrosion resistance SAF 2707 HD consistently outperforms most other materials in severe chloride containing environments, such as seawater-cooled heat exchangers. It can serve as an alternative to nickel alloys and high-alloy austenitic stainless steels in demanding applications. Eurocorr focuses on the leading anti-corrosion technologies of industrial interest, including recent and reliable scientific results and industrial achievements, and work with the development of new standards and regulations in corrosion control. Sandvik specialises in developing and manufacturing products in ad- vanced stainless steels and special alloys for demanding environments. SANDVIK exhibited at the Eurocorr 2018 corrosion conference in September, with its theme of ‘solving corrosion with science, together we can do it’. The company believes this approach encompasses its commitment to offering the best in corrosion-resistant products, while working with customers to solve a range of problems and challenges. The company’s team at Eurocorr in Krakow, Poland, were on hand to discuss Sand- vik’s range of corrosion-resistant duplex stainless steels, including hydraulic and instrumentation tubing, and heat ex- changer and high temperature tubing. Speaking before the event, Barinder Ghai, regional technical marketing manager EMEA for Sandvik, said, “We’re excited to be exhibiting at Eurocorr again and are looking forward to welcoming existing and new customers alike to our stand. We believe this event provides a great opportunity to network

with like-minded colleagues, including individual members and representatives of international corrosion societies, to discuss the latest issues and solutions.” Sandvik says its higher yield strength product translates into significantly higher pressure tolerance and lower weight, which in turn enables more compact system designs. The latest offering is Sandvik SAF 2707 HD, a hyper-duplex material developed for critical applications in a range of process
