As all of its customers have to cut or saw pipes before they start bevelling, Copier has invented a production line for length measuring, cutting and bevelling of metal pipes called the Beaver CB. To have length measuring, cutting and bevelling in one machine is efficient and the pipe is always clamped when cutting or bevelling. Its production line for pipe cutting and bevelling consists of an infeed conveyor, the machine for cutting and bevelling and the outfeed conveyor. One operator can control the complete production line from the operator panel. The main advantage of the Beaver CB is that output is higher because length measuring, cutting and bevelling is combined. The Beaver CB

in the pipe parameters like pipe diameter, wall thickness, steel kind, bevel type and cut length. The operator enters all the lengths of the pipe parts that need to be cut from the 12m starting length. the push-up infeed conveyor pushes the pipe into the Beaver CB and knows where to clamp it in order to make the cut on the required length as entered in the program. The machine then starts cutting, and during the cutting process it performs a bevel on both ends of the cut, on both pipe ends. After that the pipe pieces are processed to the outfeed conveyor from where they can be dispatched. Another advantage of the Beaver CB is that the user does not have to deal with internal transport from the band saw to the bevelling machine.

The operator can select one of the pre- set bevel shapes and dimensions that have been saved in the software of the CNC program. These bevel shapes are based on the ASME bevel shapes and dimensions. The machine automatically changes tools according to the bevel shape and angles. It also works with a single point CNC machining process, so can cut and bevel up to 60mm-thick walls. The Beaver CB will perform a bevel shape on both ends of the cut pipe if required. On the front infeed conveyor the user can place a 12m metal pipe. The operator fills

out. Other similar tools would be for brake line flaring, bubble flaring and tube end forming.
