Uzinexport SA

The system provides the online measurement at a rate adaptable to the SAW pipe mill output (pipes/hour). The system gives high-accuracy measurements of the pipe outer diameter and cross section shape (out-of- roundness). All the measurements are automatically compared to the tolerances allowed by the specific standards.

The system has two main targets: • Monitoring the active lifetime of expanding jaws, exposed mainly to friction wear on the pipe inner surface. • Registration of cycle numbers and their amplitude, applied to the expander’s traction force chain, consisting of coupling, drawbar and nut.

The thermographic supervision system for expansion tools is designed for the non-contact monitoring of the expanding tools’ lubrication. By extension the system also gives information about the expansion tools' wear and damage. Finally, the company believes that the experience achieved and the reliability in operation of its equipment and the continuous support granted by its customers should constitute a significant guarantee of the level of expertise it offers in the field.
