n We have seen CIMTAS Pipe’s adver tisements mentioning the

“Best trilogy ever”. Can you also tell us about your Integrated Piping Solutions concept?

Following the inauguration of our fitting manufacturing and hot induction bending facility in 2015 as one of the most modern of its kind in Europe, our high-tech LSAW pipe mill (a first in Turkey) has been put into service in a very short time and started operations in 2017. We can manufacture carbon, alloy and stainless steel pipes with the help of high-end technology to cover a range of 16" to 60" diameter and 8 to 65mm thickness. Together with this integration, CIMTAS Pipe today is globally the first company to offer fittings, LSAW pipes and spool fabrication, with its own pipes and fittings all at a single location. With a total manufacturing capacity of 160,000 tons and a fabrication capacity of more than 40,000 tons per year, we would like to enlarge our reference list, which currently contains more than 50 customers and more than 100 projects in more than 40 different countries. n Have you already star ted running this concept on any projects yet? And has CIMTAS Pipe been involved in the supply of LSAW pipes and fittings for recent projects? Yes. Thanks to our accumulated expertise and the Industry 4.0 tools we now use in our production lines. Here, at CIMTAS Pipe, we manufactured the heat-treated carbon and stainless steel pipes and fittings for two of the massive

LNG terminals in the USA, and also did the spool fabrication with those pipes and fittings. We have already supplied a wide range of fittings to several critical and supercritical power plants in the USA, Germany, Egypt, Iraq, Bahrain and Indonesia, and chemical plants and refineries in the USA, Egypt, Romania and Turkey. We started building our LSAW pipe references with heavy wall (thicker than 50mm) thick low-temperature carbon steel pipes of an LNG terminal in Turkey, and we have already supplied several demanding projects, including, but not limited to, marine drilling riser pipes, high strength jacket, topside and riser pipes, sour gas process pipes in the USA, and process pipes to be used in a new polymer plant in Europe. We are proud to have established this global first ‘Integrated Piping Solutions’ concept, and hope all interested parties will visit us at our state-of-the-art facility in Gemlik, Turkey.

Volkan Kibaroglu is assistant general manager of CIMTAS Pipe, which has been working successfully in the pipe industry for more than 17 years. The company has also recently made significant investments in order to develop its pioneering ‘Integrated Piping Solutions’ concept.
