Coriolis mass flow meter production commences

be the first Coriolis mass flow meter to feature advanced entrained gas management (EGM), with no loss of measurement with gas entrainment up to 100 per cent of volume. Unlike other mass flow meters, where relative movement between gas and fluid dampens the amplitude of the measuring tube and interferes with the electronics’ capability to determine the actual resonant frequency, the Optimass 6400 with EGM can follow the varying fluid conditions and adapt the tube driver oscillations accordingly. EGM continues to present an actual measured reading, together with an indication or configurable alarm that improves processes by identifying transient gas entrainments. Sizes range from ½" to 1", and the Optimass 6400 is offered in stainless steel 316L, Hastelloy ® C22 and duplex steel UNS S31803.

KROHNE, Inc has begun manufacturing the Optimass 6400 twin bent tube Coriolis mass flow meter at its newly opened flow and level instrument manufacturing and calibration facility located in Beverly, Massachusetts, USA. The Optimass 6400 is suited to standard liquid and gas applications in the chemical and petrochemical, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and energy and power industries. It is equipped with a new signal converter that features advanced device and process diagnostics, compliant to NAMUR NE 107. The flow meter has been approved for custody transfers of both liquids and gases, making it suitable for process industries and specialist applications such as LNG, CNG or supercritical gases in terminal or storage/bunkering. Phased-array flaw detector EDDYFI Technologies’ Gekko phased- array flaw detector has successfully qualified for the examination of austenitic and ferritic piping welds, according to the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) procedure ‘EPRI-PIPE-MPA-1, Rev.2’. The EPRI procedure is qualified according to ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, Section XI, Appendix VIII.

• Eliminates tedious set-ups forever • Typical 2 second cycle time or less • It can be resharpened hundreds of times • Custom sizes: 1/8” to 4-1/2” diameter

• Eliminates most dedimpling • Adapters to fit most machines

The Gekko inspection equipment is qualified to accurately detect and size discontinuities within the specified examination volume from the outside diameter (OD) surface. This includes piping systems susceptible to stress corrosion cracking (SCC). The EPRI is an independent non- profit organisation for public interest in energy and environmental research. Being qualified by EPRI is a mark of recognition in the nuclear industry and signifies a move towards a safer and better environment. During the coming year, other qualifications at EPRI are scheduled on other procedures. Eddyfi Technologies stated that it is committed to provide the most advanced NDT inspection technologies and to
