Eddyfi acquires NDT robotics specialist NON-DESTRUCTIVE testing technology specialist Eddyfi Technologies has confirmed the acquisition of Inuktun, a developer and manufacturer of remotely operated crawlers and camera systems. Headquartered in Nanaimo, in the Canadian province British Columbia, Inuktun offers robotic systems that bridge the gap between NDT inspectors and the physical world, helping customers go beyond physical inspection limitations. Inuktun also has locations in Houston, Texas, USA, and partners in Aberdeen, UK, and Perth, Australia.

TMK opens external coating facility in Nor th America

and boost line pipe sales in the North American market. “With the new facility, TMK IPSCO’s products will become more reliable and more cost- efficient for consumers,” commented Vyacheslav Popkov, TMK’s senior vice president, manufacturing. “Its strategic location and premium tubular products, now available with special coating, provide our American division with a strong competitive edge which enables further growth.” The 360,000-tonne Wilder pipe facility is strategically situated in Kentucky near the natural gas deposits of the Marcellus Shale formation.

TMK, a producer of tubular products for the oil and gas industry, has opened a new external coating facility at TMK IPSCO’s Wilder facility in North America. The 250,000 tonnes of annual coating capacity for pipes up to 609.6mm (24") in diameter is available in fusion bonded epoxy (FBE), abrasion-resistant overcoat (ARO) and speciality coating. Coating protects line pipe against corrosion, mechanical damage and weathering. The facility is certified to industry standards, including CSA Z245.20 (Canadian national standards – the most rigorous in North America), NACE SP0394 and AWWA C213, as well as end users’ specific standards. The launch will expand IPSCO’s line-up of high value-added products
