Exact Tools launches PipeCut Pro series

for straight cutting, and an overload protection ‘traffic light’ system. They are suitable for on-site pipe cutting applications where accuracy, light weight and ease of use are required.

FINLAND-based Exact Tools has launched its latest portable pipe cutting innovations, with the Pro Series 280 and Pro Series 360 models. Standard features include a powerful 2,500W motor able to cut pipe wall thicknesses of 20mm in steel and up to 50mm in plastic. The new products also include a laser indicator light for precision cutting, an improved adjustment mechanism

Tube cut-off machines THE MDC20 TUFS from Ravni is a sawing line for tube from coil. The saw cut is claimed to give excellent geometry at the extremity of the tube.

In many cases, it is no longer necessary to de-burr the tube ends before bending operations with the mandrel. The advantages of this tech- nology are enhanced by the powerful devices installed on Ravni tube cutting machines, including digital belt-drive feed systems enabling speeds of 180m/min with an accuracy of ±0.2mm. Both ranges (saw and chip-less) are equipped with quick-change tool systems (belts, jaws, cutting tools and straighteners). Applications for the machines include the automotive sector, brake and fuel tubes, air conditioning, aeronautics and heat exchangers.

and in materials (including copper, aluminium, steel, stainless steel and titanium), with the digitisation of the descent of the saw. For special applications, straightening can be performed with a rotary straight- ener and cut on the fly (with electronic control). The MDC20 TUCM model uses chip- less orbital cut-off technology instead of saw cutting, allowing for the removal of shavings, removing material losses and the need for tube washing, and reducing cycle times. In order to procure a perfectly controlled cut, two stages are required: the cutting wheel penetrates to 95 per cent of the thickness of the tube; then lateral traction is provided by means of a pulling station. Depending on the power source applied, the diameter reduction can be close to zero.

The range of machines offers versatility in terms of diameter (from 2 to 45mm) and thickness (from 0.1mm),
