Fully automatic NC circular cold saw KAAST Machine Tools Inc has added a new, fully automatic NC cold saw to the company’s line of circular saws. The HCS boasts a rigid design and sophisticated anti-vibration features, resulting in a cut that is fast, precise, efficient and clean. material diameter sensing ensures the fastest cycle times possible. The thin- kerf blade design (0.079") keeps waste at a minimum while increasing efficiency and productivity.

The new design of the HCS also includes a top vice, which keeps the material clamped, allowing bundle cutting for increased throughput. The bar loading magazine can hold 13 pieces

The HCS is fast, at up to 500 cuts/ hour for 2.75" bars, and 400 cuts/hour for 24" clean-cut lengths. The automatic

The electromagnetic brake and gear transmission are designed to decrease noise, vibration and power consumption – all resulting in an increase in blade life and cut quality. Tube surface inspection DURING tube production, surface de- fects often occur through the complete process chain. Non-stop surface inspec- tion from block to finished tube is, therefore, critical for the quality of the final product, according to IMS Messsysteme. The key to high measurement ac- curacy is the geometric stability of all components concerned and the use of in-house developed high power lasers in combination with the latest high speed 3D camera. Every effort was made while designing this system to ensure that each laser camera system operates individually. Additionally, all systems together remain in constant alignment to each other within tight tolerances. The IMS X-3Division tube surface inspection system is suitable for hot and cold applications because it auto- matically detects and classifies defects and their positions.
