on an single machine. Based on the satisfaction with the new technology the Russian manufacturer has now ordered more two production lines for its premium coupling production. Following the lead of the first Russian company, another large international pipe manufacturer has also ordered the new RingSaw ® technology. Mr Braun said: “Customer feedback from the past six years proves that tool cost savings and an increase in productivity can be achieved with the RingSaw ® . Long tool life and short changing times also ensure high availability for our customers. The return on investment is therefore secured within a very short time. Each RingSaw ® is an individual solution, tailor-made to the requirements of the customer. We are looking forward to delivering the perfect solution for every client.”

powerful production cell consisting of RingSaw ® , lathes and robots has been developed in recent years with the focus on using low-cost standard turning machines for the premium couplings. The fully automated production cell and its modular design give it a high level of adaptability. It performs just as well on outside and inside turning and potentially also thread cutting. Marking units, measuring stations and material tracking are also provided in the automatic process. Minimum workforce requirements for multi-machine operation reduces the cost of production. Auto- matic palletising with an integrated pallet changer is also provided. Last year a leading Russian steel pipe manufacturer ordered a fully automatic RingSaw ® production line with robots and turningmachines, and the facility approval has now been completed successfully. Now the Russian manufacturer is able to produce up to 300 coupling blanks per hour according to API standards addition to the traditional hand and machine torch options with lead lengths up to 15.2m (50ft). The switch to Duramax torches also gives Powermax45 owners access to Hypertherm consumable technologies such as CopperPlus ® , Max control gouging, FineCut ® , HyAccess™ and FlushCut™. “Powermax45 customers have been asking us about the ability to use Duramax torches with their system for a long time, since it gives them access to so many more cutting and gouging options,” said Jonathan Murphy, a Hypertherm marketing specialist. “With

HANS-JÖRG Braun, CEO of Reika, first introduced the advanced RingSaw ® to a large audience of international decision makers from the tube industry during the ITA conference in November 2017. The RingSaw ® concept is based on a special saw head rotating around the fixed workpiece and is effective due to the high-precision cutting quality in terms of squareness, length tolerance and cutting surface. The cut is right- angled and almost burr-free within a pipe diameter range of 100-610mm. Facing on the lathes is no longer necessary; the coupling blanks are machined externally and, if necessary, also internally on heavy duty turning machines. The positioning of the blanks is perpendicular to the centre line of the lathe chuck and therefore the machining depth can be reduced. The RingSaw ® technology delivered by Germany-based equipment manu- facturer Reika offers an efficient production cell for premium coupling blanks. This completely flexible and OWNERSof thePowermax45 air plasma system can now upgrade to a Duramax series torch – the same type found on Powermax65, 85 and 105 systems. Replacing the T45 torch originally sold with the Powermax45 will provide longer consumable life, better cut quality and more torch and consumable options. Designed for durability and reliability, Duramax torches include Spring Start™ technology in the electrode to eliminate moving parts and ensure consistent, reliable starting.
