KENT Corporation has celebrated its 50 th year of business by setting a new company record for capital equipment sales. This record was achieved through above average sales in almost all product lines and included a record number of Floop vertical accumulator sales. The Floop was originally designed in 1971 and was the machine that started Kent Corporation as a company. It has been described as a ‘game changer’ in the tube and pipe industry due to its small in-line footprint and compared to larger footprint horizontal accumulators it offers advantages in storage and allows operators to run with smaller size coils. The Floop is available for a CONTRÔLE Mesure Systèmes (CMS) has announced that it has acquired ultrasonics and eddy currents non- destructive company Sofratest. The acquisition has allowed CMS to expand its range and supply of products in non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment. French company CMS specialises in the design of NDT equipment by eddy current and ultrasonic and offers a range of products including electronical instruments, which feature their own systems, probes, accessories and software. The company has a presence in about 20 countries in Europe, Asia and America through a network of agents. Last year, the company delivered several NDT systems worldwide such as an eddy current turnkey system to detect surface defects on titanium tubes, carbon steel tubes, copper wires
