Most recently, tube layer saws have been ordered by Maharashtra Seamless and Bharat Heavy Electricals in India, Dalipal and Changbao from China as well VA Kindberg and Zeleziarne Podbrezova in Europe. framag was chosen by these com- panies due to its technological expertise and the fact that it offers the customised engineering of upstream and down - stream system components. “We are able to supply our customers with the whole package in the field of seamless, forged and extrusion tubes. In other words, single-tube and billet saws, layer saws as well as drilling machines for centre holes of the cut billets, even for highest-alloyed materials,” said Christian Habring, industrial equipment sales manager at framag. “More and more manufacturers are converting their production lines to circular saw technology. And due to the accuracy and cost effectiveness of this cutting process, the saws are particularly important for all such tube plants. “Since the payback period for such investments is relatively short, it is even worthwhile investing in economically weaker times,” added Mr Habring. “For example, production becomes many times more efficient and more cost effective by replacing HSS saws as is the case at the Bharat Heavy Electricals plant. Or replacing abrasive saws – as at Zeleziarne Podbrezova – to improve the cutting performance and quality. For billet preparation by converting from flame cutting or band sawing machines to high-performance carbide saws.” The industrial equipment builder supplied mainly KKS 1250L type saws
