Buehler celebrates 85 years in testing as it moves to new German headquar ters

The laboratory is equipped with technology for the preparation of materialography samples as well as the latest generation of hardness testers. It is available for the solution of specific tasks and problems of national and international customers as well as for seminars and training courses. The first test run took place at the beginning of the year with the start of the SumMet courses, in which Buehler will impart specialist and detailed knowledge on the preparation and evaluation of material samples. Buehler was founded in 1936 by Swiss immigrant, Adolph Buehler, who saw a need for metallographic sample prepa- ration equipment and optical inspection instruments for the steel and automotive industries in the Midwest US. In the 1960s, the company expanded to Europe, and since 1979 it has also been represented in China. InAsia, there are subsidiaries in Shanghai, Tokyo and Hong Kong. In November 2021, the company relocated its German-based European headquarters from Esslingen to Leinfelden-Echterdingen.
