Singulus Technologies and Allied Photochemical agree development alliance

SINGULUS Technologies, Germany, and Allied Photochemical, USA, have entered into a technology development alliance with the intention to bring new coating technology to the market place. Singulus Technologies, a machine manufacturing company and Allied PhotoChemical, a UV coating company, will collaborate on machine concepts and coating chemistries with the primary goal of bringing to the Decorative market place technologies that are environmentally friendly, inherently sustainable and provide a quality of coating never seen in the decorative industry. Neil Brokenshire, president and CEO of Singulus Technologies INC, said: “We feel that the time is right for a machine manufacturer and a UV coating company to work closely together creating a sustainable business case for the coating of metal and plastics parts.

Customers need efficient, comprehensive solutions providing them with peace of mind to focus on their own business outcomes.” Singulus Technologies offers production systems under the brand name Decoline II, which apply decorative and functional layers in an inline vacuum coating process (PVD = Sputtering). The fully

automated production system with the corresponding throughput allows for a cost-efficient production process. The central component of the production line is the vacuum sputtering machine, the Polycoater Metallizer, which operates on the principle of cathode sputtering (PVD) and realises a sustainable and environmentally-friendly coating. The complete production line integrates metallisation in a vacuum and automatically transports the parts to defined transfer positions. In combination with basecoats, the coating is used for the additional finishing of two- or three- dimensional components of different characteristics.
