time (facing, ID and OD bevel plus – upon request adaptor for specific angle bevel). The machine is equipped with a quick spindle replacement allowing it to reduce the downtimes upon size changeover. Magnetic portal packaging machine – the tubes are automatically packed, via a magnetic portal handling system, into hexagonal or square/rectangular bundles and then strapped. An innovative feature of this machine is a double bundle stacking trolley to allow to produce a bundle formed of prime tube and non-prime choice tubes at the same time, based on a tube-by-tube tracking. Before dispatch the equipment undergoes strict pre-shipment tests conducted in the presence of the customer.

the line. Consequently all operator hazards have been eliminated providing a constantly safe work environment. Particular attention is given to tube handling in order to avoid denting and scratching on the tube surface. The main processing equipment present in the line is as follows: sample cutoff station – this station allows the user to cut off a sample piece for testing purposes. The operation is performed on an allocated station in order to not create a hindrance on the production. The sample piece is cut by a band saw. Swarf removal station – suitable to flush out ID beads, loose chips and the scale of two tubes at a time in two stages by means of compressed air performed in two stages. Double spindle chamfering machine – to follow the high output, the line has a special double head chamfering machine to process two tubes at a

MAIR Research has more than 40 years of experience in the design, manufacture and supply of tube and bar finishing lines. It recently had the opportunity to work with the Arvedi Tubi Acciaio team to create a tube finishing line suited to a wide range of applications such as water and gas conveyance, heat exchange and DOM mother tubes. The main feature of this line is the particularity of the required output speeds, which the Mair Research equipment must guarantee will be followed with no bottlenecks or hindrances. The range is 170mm with wall thickness up to 14mm and lengths up to 14m. The layout has been custom- designed according to the specific processing required as well as the existing equipment and floor space. Since all operations are performed automatically, only operators with supervisory tasks are required to conduct

FILTRA.4 – Emulsion cleaning system, 100% maintenance free, no consumables, automatic, 100% reliable .

FILTRA.1 Metallic swarfs and chips are collected in phase 1 by settling and are dragged out by a solid extracting dredge. FILTRA.2 Metallic sludges floating in the emulsion (calamine, metallic powder, etc..) are compacted by the coalescers and are collected and extracted in a container by the solid extracting dredge. FILTRA.3 Non-soluble oils are collected by an oil-attracting drum, FILTRA.4 Automatic emulsion refilling: Filtered emulsion volume is constantly controlled, and refilled
