CUTTING, SAWING & SAW BLADES

Buehler relocates cutting and polishing application laboratory RELOCATIONS are a logistical challenge for companies and must be planned carefully. Buehler, a subsidiary of the American ITW Group based in Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Germany faced such a task earlier this year. The company specialises in materialographic equipment, which includes the complete product chain from cutting, mounting, grinding and polishing, microscopy and hardness testing. In the process of modernisation the company management decided to gradually relocate to Neuss, which is more conveniently located for transport. Between September 2022 and the end of December 2022, all equipment and materials had to be assembled and carefully packed. Subsequently, the transport was organised and the detailed equipment of the new application laboratory was determined by the employees. In this lab, customers and prospective customers learn the best methodology for their sample preparation from trained Buehler professionals and learn about the ideal equipment and consumables. From the beginning to the end of the process, they receive expert guidance and advice from the staff. Before customers purchase new equipment and suitable consumables, they can be sure that all samples are correctly prepared. This is an immense advantage that saves time, money and frustration.

Daniel Peters, from Buehler, said: “Our customers are mainly from the aerospace industry, electrical engineering and the automotive industry. In these industries, an incorrect preparation of the materials for assessment would be fatal. Potential material defects or deterioration must be corrected immediately to avoid later failures at the earliest possible stage. Once customers have decided upon the right inspection device, they can look forward to simple, intuitive operation. Complicated training is no longer necessary and the analysis can be started immediately.”

The machinery offers laser power of up to 6kW for material thickness of up to 15mm and features Bevel Cut and RapidCut technology and seamline tube detection. With more than 40 years of experience, The Laser Cutting Co is one of the first in the UK to invest in the TruLaser tube machine. The Laser Cutting Co is able to offer and all-in-one service with excellent production capacity and lead times. Charlie Day, sales and business development director at The Laser Cutting Co, said: “In providing customers with access to the very latest in cutting technology, we are able to provide a high-quality, efficient and reliable subcontract-cutting service at a competitive price. Coupled with our existing tube laser and additional services such as flowdrilling and pressing, we provide a very strong service offering to the market.” James Day, operations director, added: “With the addition of this second tube laser, our capacity is more than doubled. Not only does this improve customers’ lead times for parts without compromising quality, but it provides unrivalled redundancy and reliability for our customers.”

THE Laser Cutting Co has unveiled its new investment in the TruLaser Tube 7000 Fibre machine. The machine will double company’s existing tube laser cutting capacity and reduce lead times. The investment also adds the capacity for rapid processing of large section parts of up to 254mm outside diameter.
