A second mill is also being assembled and will be delivered in the next three months. The two mills can handle the heaviest wall among CNC direct forming square tube mills. The time taken to change the size of tube has been reduced to ten minutes, with no tooling change nec- essary. No test runs are required after size changes so there is no scrap. This is important for a large size tube mill. The mill can produce accurate tubes over a wide size range. With an automatic entry section and automated bundler, the whole mill requires only three operators. FDMachinery is the original developer of the ‘whole shaft’ flexible forming square tube mill. The major advantage of this design is its ability to handle heavy wall.
