A modular design allows the ability to choose a required technical configuration to fit any need according to the customer process and depending on the final product features.

Smar t mill management OTO high precision tube mill adjustments are automatically carried over by an in-house software tool – Mill Manager. The Mill Manager software manages to store all tube recipes with associated production parameters in terms of roll setting referred to each stand. At each format change, it automatically adjusts the mandrel positions for each stand, providing the best possible repeatability and shortest downtime. Given the high thickness of the tubes, it is very important to correctly distribute the pull through force along the whole length of the mill. To do this efficiently, the OTO 608H mill provides a single motor per pass with individual speed adjustments, and this offers the mill operator the useful possibility to fine tune the pull-through forces applied to the strip/tube at each pass. As an alternative, a configuration with one motor per shaft can be chosen by the customer if it suits their needs more, in particular in the breakdown section where the drive point varies along with the thickness and in general does fully match the ratio between the top and the bottom rolls diameter. Strict tolerances and best repeatability The OTO 608H tube mill is designed to address the automotive and mechanical DOM tube makers’ needs, targeting strict tolerances, high robustness, best repeatability, optimum inner scarfing and quick changeovers.
