custom-made machines and we also aim to work closely with the customer in order to offer them the best solutions within our capabilities and design machines to help the customer in the best way possible. With our experienced engineering and production team we can provide many kinds of solutions to many different problems – about 80 per cent of the rotating tool lathes that we sell are “modified standard”. n What are the future plans for your company? Do you see a lot of potential for growth – in the rapidly developing areas of the world, for example? During 2019 we have increased the order intake value for Copier Bevel Machines compared to 2018 by more than 337 per cent. This explosive increase of sales orders had already started towards the end of 2018. We still see many high value enquiries arriving and we are also participating in many large projects that are likely to get the final sign-off very soon. These projects are taking place all over the world. Just looking at the year 2019, for example, we have received orders from customers in Austria, Singapore, China, Germany, Abu Dhabi, Norway and Russia as well as others. We certainly see large growth potential in countries in eastern Europe and southeast Asia and the growth potential is also still in Russia – over the last couple of years we have sold many machines to the Russia market. n How do you see the tube and pipe industry (and bevelling in par ticular) changing over the next five to ten years? For the next three years I see many projects related to complete factories that have to be equipped with cutting, bevelling and welding solutions. For us it has always been difficult to predict where the next customer is because we really sell worldwide and hardly ever sell machines in our own country where we are based. With a very good reseller and agent network worldwide we can get in contact with the end customers very easily to start initial contact. When it gets really serious we assist and complete the project together

with the reseller or agent. This is how we have always done business and it has worked well for us. n Your rotating tool lathe seems to have attracted a lot of interest from customers. Why is this? We have a robustly built solution using proven technology and we offer it at a fair price because we manufacturer it ourselves and we are transparent with the end customer. Anyone who is interested is welcome to come over to our factory in the Netherlands and get a detailed demonstration. With the many kinds of solutions, accessories and tooling we have available we can show that there is always a good solution that could satisfy the customer’s specific requirements, then we show this solution and we convince them about the solution. In fact it is not any more complex than that most of the time. n What do you think is the main strength of the company? We show the customer the solution and solve the machining issue that they are facing and in this way we convince the end customer, and most of the time they then buy the solution from us. With our engineering ability and our many years of knowledge about machining we can offer the solution that meets the customer’s requirement and most of the time also meet the customer’s budget. n What is your proudest achievement while working at the company? In 2019 I was very proud of selling more than 25 rotating tool lathes to a variety of customers in the pipe industry with the assistance of our resellers and agents network. We really do this together as one organisation working as a team.

Around seven years ago I started at Copier Bevel Machines and over the years I have learned about the market and about the machinery. Now we have a large network of contacts and that proves to be very beneficial. What I like about the work is that you investigate the needs that are out in the market and then you adapt and meet this need with a suitable solution. You create a machine that does the job well within the budget and has the output (per day) that is required by the customer.
