Rafter adds two more CNC machining centres

Haas VF series vertical machining centre

RAFTER Corporation has added two new CNC machining centres to meet current manufacturing demands. The identical Haas VF Series vertical machining centres were purchased to expand the company’s in-house manufacturing capabilities, which helps maintain high-quality and on-time delivery. Each machine includes added fourth- axis machining capability. The new machines represent the third and fourth additions in the last ten months. Previously Rafter added a larger five-axis lathe in November 2016 and an even larger five-axis lathe in April 2017. Rafter is a manufacturer of tube mills, pipe mills, roll forming machines, cut-off machines, and other related tube and pipe mill machinery. Additional services include mill refurbishing, design engineering and contract manufacturing. Originally started in 1917, the Rafter name is known for reliable, high-quality tube mill and roll forming equipment. Equipment

non-ferrous metals. The two main CMS products are RotoETscan eddy current rotating heads for tube inspection in a 1 to 220mm diameter range, for surface, subsurface and punctual flaws detection; and RotoUTscan ultrasonic rotating heads for tube/bar inspection in stainless steel, titanium, zirconium, or carbon steel (6 to 250mm diameter range), for longitudinal and transversal defect detection, thickness measurement, OD, ID and ovalisation. These rotating heads can be combined with other CMS equipment, such as magnetising units, rotating systems or support coils, and can be installed together in a strong control bench including centring devices. Supervision software allows the display of combined signals (UT/ET) and creation of inspection reports that can be used as control evidence for quality services and customers. Stored data can be recalled for analysis and quality treatment. All the systems meet quality standards such as API, ASTM and DIN. CMS will exhibit at Tube Düsseldorf from 16 to 20 April, on stand 6G18. Contrôle Mesure Systèmes – France Fax: +33 385 9414 15 Email: commercial@cmseddyscan.com Website: www.cmseddyscan.com
