SEVERALyears ago, Haven recognised that flexibility is key to product di- versification and the ability to offer the right solutions. The company was asked by a customer to combine two of its technologies and develop a new version of its Kleencut supported shear cutoff. The collaboration brought together Haven’s mechanical and controls expertise with the customer’s operational knowledge. A new machine was developed that improved quality, reliability and productivity. The Haven Model #640- TW utilises servo motion technology to control the feed and cut positioning. New operating software was also used to support the worldwide standardisation programme. Part lengths as short as 6mm are statistically held to ±0.15mm. Every ring is stamped with an identification
