The machine was recently used at a job site in Bahrain to weld several kilometres of PE100 Ø 1,200mm SDR 26 to be used for carrying water from the sea to be desalinated. The welding machine features hydraulic clamps for faster operation. In just a few minutes all the clamps are open wide without any support from other mechanical devices. The hydraulic clamps provide another benefit in terms of grip on the pipes: avoiding slip during the pressure phase, which can occur with insufficient manual fastening. The high temperatures at the job site do not affect the welding machine, as it is equipped with a heat exchanger for the hydraulic circuit. Welds are certified by ‘The Inspector’, Ritmo’s data-logger, which records and monitors all of the Delta 1600’s workflow. The device relies on an internal memory of 1,000 cycles and a GPS system.
