Cold rolling mills for tube production from 6-450mm Electrostal Heavy Engineering Works (EZTM JSC), Russia, constructs cold rolling tube mills of different configurations in order to produce tubes from 6mm to 450mm in diameter. The company designs machinery for the production of tubes of small and medium nominal sizes, including installation of control systems and design of machines to provide high reliability and control flexibility under multiple stand strokes. These include rolling with double feed and double turn, rolling at forward stroke of the working stand, and rolling with feed and turn in the extreme back position of the working stand only. The mill is equipped with three different interchangeable working stands allowing

EZTM also develops three-high mills for the rolling of tubes of medium and large diameter. These mills are fitted with ring or open-end ring passes and independent drives of mechanisms that feed and turn the billet, and are able to use different rolling schemes. The company also carries out modernisation of existing cold rolling mills, from separate units up to full redesign. A new universal cold pilger mill 60-160 has been put into operation by EZTM JSC in India. The mill is intended for the production of extremely thin-walled tubes of cylindrical, hexagonal or square section. High technological mobility is achieved by using several technological rolling schemes.

passes having grooves of either a constant or variable section. The second option is rolling of hexagonal tubes in a three-high stand with passes having grooves of a constant section. The third capability is for rolling of square tubes in a four-roller stand with passes having grooves of constant section. It is therefore possible to produce fine pre-finished billets for the subsequent rolling of high-precision shaped tubes. EZTM JSC has also manufactured a unique cold rolling mill 350 for a Chinese

customer. The mill is intended for the rolling of different stainless steels. Distinguishing features of the mill 350 are three-high stand with roll force up to 800 ton, independent drives of mechanisms that feed and turn the billet, and a drive system allowing the adjustment of the desired roll diameter and roll with minimum axial forces.
