Advanced FL 600 3D tube cutting machine

Tube Tech Machinery, Italy, is the manufacturer of the advanced FL 600 3D tube cutting machine. The FL 600 3D provides maximum levels of precision, quality and productivity. It can work with diameters from 80-610mm round tube, 400mm x 400mm square tube and 500mm x 300mm rectangular tube, and a maximum length of 24,000mm. The tri-dimensional system allows operation on any point in a spherical space, with movement along 5 interpolated axis, precision ball screws and linear motors. The FL 600 3D is equipped with a double tube loading system. One loading device operates from a bundle, which allows the automatic loading of tubes with round, square and rectangular section (with a loading capacity of 10,000 kg). The second operates from chain, which enables the loading of open section profiles. The machine is composed of V shaped supports: the chains move at variable speed, according to the tube diameter and weight. The chains slide on bearings to prevent noise and wear. The movement of the piece along the working axis is guaranteed by four self-centring mandrels, activated by synchronized hydraulic cylinders.

A tempered and rectified precision helical toothed rack activates the advance, operated by brushless motor and precision reducer with slack recovery system. The mandrels are designed to allow the machining of different diameters and sections, with no change of tools. machining even on particularly irregular tubes, preventing dangerous mechanical stress on the mandrels. Driven by CNC Siemens 840D (2), the plant is automatically controlled by 2 CNC controls: one for the handling area and the other for the laser working area (sphera), while a third CNC control manages and supervises the laser source. The 3 com- puters are set to interact with one another, with no need for human operation. They automatically accomplish profile loading, dimensional control, 3D laser machining and discharge of the machined parts. The machine has a laser resonator power up to 4000W, a mandrel linear speed of

Latest PQF ® seamless tube plant

Chinese tube producer, Anhui Tianda Oil Pipe Co Ltd, has placed an order with SMS Meer, a company of the SMS group, Germany, for the supply of a new seamless tube plant. The plant will employ the PQF ® (Premium Quality Finishing) technology developed by SMS Meer, and will have an annual capacity of 500,000t of seamless tubes. The maximum tube diameter will be 9 5 / 8 ". Commissioning is scheduled for 2009. SMS Meer will provide Anhui Tianda Oil Pipe with a comprehensive PQF plant solution, consisting of the key components of the rolling mill equipment. This includes the media systems and complete automation, as well as the whole engineering, project management, erection supervision and commissioning, and hands-on training of operating personnel. Advantages of PQF technology include rolling of thin walls within very close tolerances, lower material and energy consumption during production, new possibilities for higher material grades and greater flexibility in the rollable dimensions.
