P400 universal multifunction horizontal press

Apollo Srl, Italy, has launched the P400 universal multifunction horizontal press that is capable of bending, stamping, and forming. Available with numerous accessories, the precise and versatile press can curve and straighten pipe or plates. The P400, which has a multi-purpose capability in the field of mechanical engineering, is classed as universal because of a very simple tool change. The P400 is an oleo-dynamic machine, with the cylinder positioned on the same axis as the tools, thus allowing for full

use of emission force. The drives are protected by gaskets from dust, dross and slag. The press has a 250mm stroke and 3 speeds – 15mm/sec, 55mm/sec, and 70mm/sec – which can be selected by means of a very simple communicator. The bases are thermo-dynamically stabilised so as to prevent deformation or interruption by the drive- group. The changing of the tools takes only a few seconds due to a coupling system composed of

into semi-automatic systems for working in series – useful in applications that involve curving of plates, pipe or tubing. The presses easily adapt to insertion into automatic processes and can be connected to an NC feeding system for series bending with keyboard programming. The P400 is part of a range of Apollo presses that are capable of bending, stamping, and forming. The tube does not rotate around the form tools, as in conventional systems, and instead rotates around the tube. This allows 3 dimensional compound forming not previously available to the designer without a secondary device. OMCG’s cutoff is of the rotary type thus reducing scrap required for the clamping die on conventional tube benders. OMCG tube systems handle a wide range from 3mm to 12.7mm tubing. Forming systems based on tube coils
