Rory McBride – Editor
On page 30 you can read the Industry 360 column, which looks at the rise of electric vehicles, but explains that the combustion engine – and its many tube-related products – still has plenty of life left in it. It is fascinating to read how old the concept of electricity powered cars actually is. Oriol Serra of Quaker Houghton takes a look at the benefits of UV coated tubes and pipes (page 58) – a process with a number of benefits, not least the smaller footprint of the technology and the huge environmental benefits. Helmut Freiherr von Fircks from Swiss Steel Group explains the importance of the electric arc furnace as steel makers look to decarbonise the energy intensive process. In the next issue of TPT magazine we have features on cutting technology, sawing & saw blades; and handling, bundling, packaging & logistics. The Tube Products INTERNATIONAL focus will be on tube handling & logistics and aerospace tubes & pipes. The editorial deadline for the January 2025 issue of TPT is 28 November. Please send any articles or news you would like to share with our international readership to: rory@intras.co.uk I hope that you enjoy the magazine. See you in 2025.
