Rising oil prices and a growing regional economy have laid the perfect foundation for the 16 th SteelFab in 2020. The previous edition of the event featured more than 1,000 companies and attracted thousands of visitors during its four-day run. A strong resurgence in the GCC’s economic growth prospects is fuelling boost for the region’s construction industry, which remains the biggest sector in terms of project value and infrastructure industries in the region. These are the core sectors that drive the metal working industry in the region. Crude prices have already hit a year high – and the UAE, along with Oman, is set to be the fastest growing economy in the GCC region this year. Continuing infrastructure spending, stimulus packages, reforms and growth in the non-oil sector are also providing an impetus to a number of steel-related industries. Preparations for World Expo 2020 have also picked up pace and are generating tremendous opportunities for the fabrication sector.
