High-tech machinery for tube, bar and wire straightening, drawing and cutting

VIOLI Srl specialises in the design and production of industrial machinery dedicated to the manufacture of tubes andwires, typically used in the processes of drawing, winding, straightening and cutting. Founded in 1992 by Giorgio Violi, the company has established a strong pres- ence internationally, offering a range of comprehensive and reliable straighten- ing machines used to process cold and hot metal profiles. The full line includes equipment for straightening tubes or bars made of steel or other metals with a circular, cross or complex profile. The profile straightening machine VM/RPD is designed to straighten bars and tubes made of metals with square, rectangular and complex profiles. It consists of two groups of seven motorised rollers, assembled at 90°, with one opposite the other. The straightening process takes place via power-assisted adjustment using eight brushless motors. The groups are self-positioned on the centre of the profile dimensions. Working programs for different types and dimensions of profiles can be stored. The MRT series, for tubes and bars, is equipped with straightening groups consisting of hyperbolic pairs of rollers, obliquely mounted, that have an

diameter up to 30mm as well as com- plex profiles with a similar size. The machine uses a double rotating group of wheels, set at 90° opposite each other, and a dragging unit with small shaped wheels, or plastic polymer rollers. The machine is provided with an encoder to automatically define the length of the cutting. The saw blade cutting group has a variable speed and is controlled by brushless motors. As an option, the machine can be provided with a pay-off reel, motorised or clutch driven, with adjustment of the diameter of the coil, with a winch for coil lifting and a special ejecting unit for the unloading of the product. Setup of the machine occurs quickly through a touchscreen panel. The VM/MRTS1 straightening ma- chine with saw blade cut is projected for straightening and cutting of circular tubes with diameter from 3 to 8mm, and is equipped with a pre-straightening group with five wheels, which is manual- ly adjustable; a motorised rotating group with rolls that offer variable rotation; a dragging unit composed of three groups of motorised wheels with variable speed through an inverter; an encoder to de- fine the length of cutting; a saw blade cutting unit; and a pneumatic plier for tube blocking to avoid burrs.

inclination opposite to each pair. The orientation of the axes, combined with the hyperbolic geometry of the rollers, allows the profile to rotate forward. All the rollers are on motorised and independent supports flowing within bushings that allow the operator to modify the height and the angle of the system. Interacting with the vertical axis is possible in order to adapt the straightening machine to different diameters and to correct the line of the advancement of the profile. This can be done in order to create metal stress and to get products perfectly straight. Two motors reverse the direction of the motion, allowing the operator to control and adjust the speed of the advancement of the profiles that are being processed. The MRT line includes three models with different capacities: MRT5 for tubes and bars with diameter from 3 to 11mm; MRT5M for tubes and bars with diameter from 10 to 30mm; and MRT5M50 for tubes and bars with diameter from 25 to 50mm. The VM/MRTV wire-straightening machine, with fly cutting system, is designed to straighten and automatically cut wires made of metals such as aluminium, copper, brass, steel, silver and gold to the desired length and without stopping the advancement of the wire during the cutting operation.
