THE evolution of solutions for pickling stainless steel tubes has led to the formulation of Descalinox P14 Fast TPF. The main advantages are related to its operator safety and low environmental impact. Descalinox P14 Fast TPF is com- pletely free of nitric acid and contains a low concentration of hydrofluoric acid. The absence of nitric acid eliminates the problems of toxic vapours from both nitrogen oxides (NOx) and those of the same nitric acid; it also removes the presence of nitrates in water. The low concentration of hydrofluoric acid fur- ther improves the situation by bringing the working bath into Category 3 and the concentrated solution into Category 2. These factors help to reduce risk
