Expanding manufacturing capacity and capabilities SURROUND Technologies and its sister company Advanced Flow Systems, part of AdvanTec Global Innovations, have added new equipment, staff and expanded manufacturing capacity to meet increasing customer demand in the areas of custom enclosures, pipe welding and other industrial contract manufacturing projects. Supported by the acquisition of new contracts, the management team has completed a plan to double manufacturing capacity. Anthony Van Grol, general manager of Surround Technologies and Advanced Flow Systems, said, “We have invested in state-of-the-art equipment including a 115T lift crane, which grants us the flexibility to lift and move extremely heavy and large enclosures as well as piping loads, thus reducing labour and loading time. “We have added a sand blasting booth, which along with our 5,000ft 2 paint booth enables us to both blast and paint on-site, improving project timelines and schedules. We have also added the capability to fabricate penstock utilising sub arc welding and improved pipe spooling process utilising orbital welding. “All of these capabilities, along with our expertise inASME fabrication, building integration and modular construction allow us to be a single-stop solution for complex projects and offer better scheduling options to our clients whatever their specific requirements.” The solutions meet industrial standards for safety and quality including ASME, CWB, CSA and ISO. A large pool of engineers, technicians and project managers support every stage of project execution, including up-front design and technical requirements. Surround Technologies designs and manufactures modular prefabricated steel enclosures and the integration of generators, electrical gear, mechanical and control systems. Advanced Flow Systems specialises in the fabrication of custom-engineered ASME welding projects including pipe spooling, tanks and vessels, penstock, helical coils and large-scale pipe fabrications.
