Authorised bandsaw blade welding distributor TRU-CUT Saw, Inc has become an authorised bandsaw blade welding distributor for Simonds International. The company now offers a full line of welded-to-length Simonds bandsaw blades, and can supply themwith a variety of PVD coatings: TiN for general-purpose cutting; TiCN for stainless steel; AlTiN for alloy steels; and VitaNano™ for titanium and exotic metals. With in-house PVD coating capabilities, Tru-Cut can offer coating on both carbide tipped and bi-metal bandsaws. One area of focus will be combining the coating process with the Simonds SineWave ® technology. SineWave bandsaws provide an aggressive broaching action in the cut. This ‘rocking’ action speeds cutting time and improves blade life compared with conventional bandsaws, while reducing strain on the machine. It is claimed that the technology in many cases offers twice the cutting tool life compared with conventional blades, and it can be used on almost any bandsaw machine. Coupled with Tru-Cut’s PVD coatings, the bandsaws can offer performance and cost savings across a wide variety of cutting applications. Tru-Cut will offer Simonds blades in welded-to-length bands in widths from 1" to 3 1 / 8 ". David Otter, president of Tru-Cut Saw, said, “We’ve been known primarily for our circular metal cutting saw blades and PVD coating services. Now, as a Simonds authorised welding distributor, we can provide our customers with PVD coated bandsaws that deliver the same high level of production and cost savings as our circular blades.” Tru-Cut Saw manufactures saw blades for all types of cutting applications, from simple hand cut-off machines to high production flying cut-off machines. Blades are designed for all sawing applications in ferrous and non- ferrous materials, and sizes range from 200mm to over 3m. The company also sells the Tru-Cut 16" (400mm) Dry Cut Metal Saw, designed for cutting tubular, solid, angled and other shapes. The company’s ICO Surface Coatings Division offers PVD coating and re-coating services for all types of new and used saw blades, tools and wear parts. Equipped with two coating chambers and carousels, Tru-Cut and ICO offer both standard and special surface treatments. Standard coatings are CrN, TiN, TiCN, AlTiN-ML, AlTiN-XL, AlTiCrN, TiAlCN Phoenix™ and VitaNano.™ Special and tool-specific coatings can be individually tailored to specific customer requirements. Coating chambers can handle part sizes up to 1,250mm OD x 700mm.
