MAXIMUM SUPPORTING FORCE TESTS PER HOUR WEEKS REVAMPING PERIOD

Hydrotesters for longitudinally welded large- diameter pipes guarantee compliance with the relevant requirements of international certification bodies. SMS Meer has erected a new hydrostatic pipe tester for Berg Steel Pipe Corporation (BSPC) at its site in Panama City, Florida (USA). It was installed as a re- placement investment for an old machine. As no modifications were necessary to the foundations, it was possible to limit the re- vamping time to just five weeks. The plant itself is also quick: With a standard pipe length of 12.4 m, it can reach a testing capacity of 25 pipes per hour.
