Azak Tool Technologies was founded in 2018 as a result of observing the product requirements in the market and realising the potential of the experience and knowledge of Ağır Haddecilik AŞ that had been gained over many years. The company has based its activities on specialising in the field of cutting tools and supplying quality products to all world markets ever since. After a few years of preliminary research, Azak started its production with the high speed steel (HSS) circular saw product and it has made good progress in its goal of being a worldwide known brand ever since. The company’s production facility was established on a total area of 45,000m 2 in the Dilovasi Industrial Zone, which is 70km away from Istanbul. Azak started its production in a closed area of 3,000m 2 initially, and this figure reached a closed area of 8,600m 2 with continued investments within two years. In the next five years, it aims to reach a closed working area of approximately 40,000m 2 . Its production facility is equipped with the latest technology, machinery and equipment, including heat treatment furnaces, machines for various grinding processes, threading machines, coating machines and a fully equipped laboratory. One of the main factors that directly impacts performance of the product in cutting tool applications is the coating process. The company is also working with universities on this issue in order to increase the high performance our coatings provided to our customers. In this context, we have come to a point where we can offer coating options specific to the processes of the end-users. Azak approaches the requirements of its customers from its point of view and carries out the necessary engineering studies together with its customers in order to make the product as practical and efficient as possible for them. Azak currently employs a total of 108 personnel, 20 of whom are white collar workers. All of its staff are well-trained and

experienced in their fields. It also offers expert consultants from home and abroad. As a company, Azak aims to carry out our work with the principle of “people first”. In the light of this principle, it is aware that “education” is the most important weapon in terms of ensuring user safety. n What are your company’s activities? Can you tell us about the products and services you offer? HSS is defined as a tool material that is capable of cutting materials at high speed values. The most important reasons for using this type of steel are the high hardness of the saw material and its resistance to wear. Such steels have high hardness, good resistance to wear and impact. High speed steels contain elements such as chromium, vanadium, molybdenum, tungsten and cobalt as alloying elements in different proportions according to
