REIKA has completed a 24" chamfering machine model 382 together with the modernisation of an existing transport system and control system ahead of the contract deadline. The preliminary acceptance with factory test was successful, so the new system can smoothly replace the previous Reika chamfering system after 24 years of operation and many million tonnes of steel pipe production at the Hamm, Germany-based plant. The Reika chamfering line operates according to API standards, is used for preparing steel tubes with a wall thickness range of up to 25.4mm and a material strength of up to 900N/mm² for line pipes and casing tubes. The line is equipped with a concentric, NC adjustable 3-jaw clamping system and AACHENER Maschinenbau GmbH (Amba) has announced the appointment of Georg Haas as its new manager of sales, succeeding Manfred Houben. Mr Haas will be responsible for the complete range – including after sales – of Amba’s all-in-one cold-forming machines designed for the production of special tubes, screws and spokes.
