EWM opens liaison office in Istanbul EWM, Germany’s largest welding machine manufacturer and a leader in arc welding technology, is expanding its international presence with a new location in Turkey.

In addition to the complete range of welding products and systems – from welding machines with all required components, welding torches and welding consumables to accessories for manual and automated applications, – EWM offers a wide portfolio of services in Istanbul. This ranges from familiarisation, commissioning, training and the maintenance and repair of all products to services including machine calibration and the maintenance of torches and hose packages. However, EWM is also available when it comes to solving more complex tasks. The experts at the liaison office in Turkey are on hand when it comes to welding tests, sample welding or metallurgical testing, for example. They can also count on the support of their colleagues at the EWM technology centre in the German headquarters in Mündersbach at all times. Mr Yildiz said: “In this respect, we offer both our direct customers and trade partners broad expertise.” He added: “We achieve this consistently at our new location in Istanbul with the specialist market concept and a comprehensive service portfolio.” The aim is to become the leading contact partner in the industry, be it for SMEs in the metal construction sector or industrial enterprises from Greater Istanbul and across Turkey as a whole.

In the newly founded liaison office in Istanbul EWM is appealing to the metalworking industry with a specialist market concept, which has already been tried and tested in Germany. Mr Yildiz said: “At our showroom customers can walk through the display and have direct access to the products on the shelves.” Each visitor can benefit from expert advice and receive demonstrations of all the machines. “Four employees, including field service workers, are at our customers’ disposal. In addition, the new representative office includes a technical training centre. Besides consulting and training, EWM also aims to establish itself as a port of call for all welding-related queries. The liaison office will issue regular invitations to information events as a result.”

EWM AG Türkiye Irtibat Bürosu is centrally situated in Istanbul in an industrial park with excellent transport connections and is near both the airport and the harbour district. As a result, it is in a useful position for workshops and industrial enterprises alike. Mehmet Yildiz, export manager at EWM, said: “Growth in production and, with it, the increasing demand for innovative welding technology in Turkey display exciting potential. The country is also highly attractive in terms of its position as a geographical gateway between East and West.”
