ADVANCES IN TUBE MEASURING & MARKING

Laser marking company appoints new managing director

By joining FOBA, the new managing director focuses on advanced technology that is shaping the future of industrial part marking: laser marking is increasingly replacing conventional marking pro- cesses, particularly in the electronics industry. It also

FOBA Laser Marking + Engraving, a supplier of laser marking systems, has appointed Richard Roth as its new managing director. Mr Roth brings extensive expertise in the field of product identification for his role as managing director for FOBA, a brand of ALLTEC Angewandte Laserlicht Technologie GmbH. His interest in laser technology began early in his career, starting as a country manager for Videojet. With leadership roles in product management and innovation at X-Rite, and as general manager EMEA for Esko, he has acquired a wealth of experience across various companies for the US-based Veralto Corporation. Mr Roth succeeds Sebastian Blösch as managing director, continuing the strategic direction and successful trajectory established by his predecessor. Mr Roth aims to further strengthen FOBA’s position as a market leader in the field of laser marking. He said: “Our mission remains unchanged: to develop reliable laser marking systems that meet the highest standards and solve our customer’s challenges – whether in medical technology, automotive manufacturing or the electronics industry. I am excited to lead this incredible team and contribute to the continued growth and success of this world-class organisation.” Tube measuring meets gravimetric weighing SIKORA and ConPro have agreed a strategic partnership under the slogan ‘measuring technology meets gravimetric weighing’. Tube and pipe manufacturers now benefit from the chance to directly combine measuring systems from Sikora with gravimetric systems from ConPro, which further increases efficiency and quality in tube and pipe production. The integration of both systems is made possible by a new interface developed by experts at the companies. This is based on the latest industrial communication standards and ensures seamless communication between the Sikora dimensional measuring device and the ConPro gravimetric system. During production, the measured tube or pipe parameters such as diameter, 360° wall thickness distribution and ovality are compared by the measuring system. The graphical integration of ConPro gravimetry into the Sikora Ecocontrol 6000 user interface enables intuitive operation. Both systems work in real time, which enables an immediate reaction to deviations. In extrusion lines with existing ConPro gravimetry and new lines, the Sikora measuring device can be connected directly to the ConPro gravimetry via the new interface.

offers an optimal solution for the automotive sector, ensuring safe, efficient marking of plastic and metal parts to guarantee reliable traceability. In medical technology, laser marking is the preferred method for direct marking as it provides permanently legible, biocompatible marks. FOBA sets decisive standards with its highly reliable laser marking process HELP (holistic enhanced laser process) and has implemented the introduction of UDI (unique device identification) marking in many companies. Mr Roth added: “At FOBA, cutting-edge technological expertise and transparent, professional consulting go hand in hand with sophisticated, forward-thinking laser technology. This allows us to provide marking solutions with added value.” FOBA Laser Marking + Engraving www.fobalaser.com
