annealing line by a Spanish customer for coil-to-coil production of seamless tubes of small diameters, underscores the recognition of EMMEDI’s technical expertise, the company said. EMMEDI’s R&D department and process
WITH almost six decades of expertise and a global presence through numerous installations, SAET EMMEDI, a member of the Ajax Tocco Magnethermic Group, stands as an important international player in the realm of induction heating technologies for welded tubes, bars and long products. EMMEDI’s team will once again seize the opportunity to exhibit at the Tube & wire Exhibition in Düsseldorf, Germany showcasing its comprehensive array of solutions tailored for the heat treatment of tubes, long products and wire. Visitors can explore these offerings at booth Hall 06 C14, where its technical sales staff will be delighted to illustrate the myriad advantages of our technologies, encompassing energy efficiency, performance and the quality of the final product. The recent supply of 400kW welders in Brazil and India, along with the latest acquisition of a complete bright IN the stainless steel pipe production sector, the primary cost, excluding raw materials, is generally associated with the handling operation. This is especially true for the production of TIG or laser welded tubes, or inline profiles starting from coils. In 1999, thanks to the foresight of a leading Italian manufacturer of welded pipes, Condoroil Stainless initiated research into a plant that would enable quick and safe tube pickling without endangering the line operator. The research resulted in the successful implementation of electrolytic tech- nology and by 2000 the first ELETTRA TU tunnel was created. This innovative system allowed for the annealing, pickling, rinsing with demineralised water, drying and packaging of pipe bundles directly on the profile, eliminating numerous handling steps. Over time, it became apparent that in line pickling was not the sole advantage of electrolytic technology. Other benefits
EMMEDI’s R&D department is committed to technological innovation
Meanwhile, EMMEDI’s SiC tech- nology has enhanced the efficiency of the welding process, leading to reduced electricity consumption. Numerous customers have attested to these benefits, reporting energy savings of at least 30 per cent (in case of valve equipment replacements). The Mosweld SiC family offers substantial advantages by leveraging silicon carbide and an architecture optimised for maximising energy efficiency and line availability.
development laboratory are committed to technological innovation to achieve optimal outcomes for these applications. On one front, the in-line bright annealing process has yielded excellent metallurgical results for the latest generation of stainless steel tubes, including duplex, super duplex and titanium. This success has prompted EMMEDI to develop a highly customised system, prioritising production flexibility, energy savings, process efficiency and equipment versatility across a broad spectrum of tube diameters.

with over 40 units in Europe alone, but has also prompted Condoroil Stainless to develop similar processes for pickling different types of pipes. Today, Condoroil Stainless offers a comprehensive range of plant families, including: ELETTRA TU – standard in-line pickling units for TIG and laser welded tubes; ELETTRA TU FAST – Similar to the former but with the power to be applied on induction welding lines; ELETTRA TU BR – developed for in line electropolishing; ELETTRA TBS – batch operating unit for internal and external pickling of hot extruded tubes; ELETTRA TBL – batch operating unit for internal and external pickling of large diameter tubes from calendar or press machines and for clad pipes. You can visit the company at booth 05 E04 during the Tube and wire trade event in Germany.
included: extreme pickling speed – even on corrosion-resistant materials (a super duplex annealed tube is pickled in 2 minutes compared to the 12 hours required for a nitro-hydrofluoric solution); Minimal environmental impact – and extreme safety for the operator due to the absence of nitric and hydrofluoric acid; no risk for the operator; and it is possible to pickle using a just irritating (no corrosive) patented solution: Descalinox P 22. The accumulation of these advantages has not only led to the widespread use of in-line pickling units, By 2000 the first ELETTRA TU tunnel was created
