Breakthrough in six degrees of freedom laser tracker technology THE Faro ® 6Probe is a wireless, handheld probe for measuring hidden areas that are not in the direct line of sight, and small, hard-to-reach spaces or tiny features that cannot be accessed with a standard spherically mounted retroreflector (SMR). The 6DoF (six degrees of freedom) probe seamlessly integrates with the new Faro VantageS6 and VantageE6 laser trackers. ActiveSeek functionality prevents users from losing the laser when walking behind objects and/or obstructions, as the Vantage will continue to track the user after the beam is broken, reconnecting automatically to the target when the target reappears. The products are tested to rigorous International Electro- technical Commission (IEC) standards for shock, vibration and extreme thermal conditions, and are IP52 rated for dust and water resistance. measurement gauge GEORGSMARIENHÜTTE (GMH) has placed an order with Friedrich Kocks for the supply of a 4D Eagle ® full profile measurement gauge. The gauge’s working principle is based on the advanced laser light sectioning method. It will replace an existing light measurement gauge, installed at the exit of an existing Kocks RSB ® 370/6, and will cover a production diameter range of 19.5 to 81mm at rolling speeds of up to 13m/s. The target is to increase the reliability and consistency of the hot bar profile measurement under ever-changing production conditions. The 4D Eagle will also provide profile data to the RSB size control system (SCS ® ) for closed-loop process control. A rolling defect detection feature enables the automatic recognition of form deviations as well as rolling defects such as roll breakage or roller failures. The new 4D Eagle will also improve process transparency. Faro Technologies UK Ltd – UK Email: uk.emea@faro.com Website: www.faro.com Full profile
