Multifunctional tube drawing machines BÜLTMANN tube drawing machines are suitable for many different applications, whether for steel, stainless steel, copper, aluminium or other materials, and are tailored to the demands of customers and the increasing requirements of the global market. Depending on the application, straight drawing machines, drum-type drawing machines or spinner blocks are used. individual lines: each drawing machine offers an individual solution for the particular application by using standard Bültmann components. The drive systems of the straight drawing machines are, depending on utilisation, executed with toothed rack, drawing chain or hydraulic cylinder. In addition, the machines can be equipped with external and/or internal clamping systems for the tubes to be drawn.

due to the specially designed Bültmann components. It is also possible to combine the machines with different handling equipment, up to complete turnkey solutions, with continuous extrusion presses, for example. Diverse measuring systems (eg for drawing load, mandrel rod load and tube geometry) can be integrated in order to achieve process availability and product quality. Dynamical visualisation in connection with production monitoring tools including PDA systems is also available, creating the prerequisites for Industry 4.0, and can be individually upgraded at any time.

The design of the Bültmann drawing machines is based on the principle of

The number of drawing stations of the straight drawing machines (from single to quadruple) depends on the output required. The drawing machines can be delivered either with stationary die stands or travelling units (eg for lack of space). Most specifications, such as the production of ‘tailor-drawn tubes’ or ‘cast and draw’ tubes, are controlled

Press fitting system for district heating DISTRICT heating is a convenient system for climate control of entire neighbourhoods. From substations for each building to individual radiant units for all apartments, Eurotubi steel press fitting systems are suitable for creating distribution systems. other purposes, such as thermal energy coming from large industrial plants, a large amount of residual heat can be used to heat water or steam.

times compared to traditional plumbing fitting systems. A ‘sleeve’ that tears and falls after pressing shows if a fitting was pressed or not, even from a distance. The presence of the LBP trickle O-ring in a toroidal shape – an exclusive Eurotubi patent – during the water pressure test, allows unpressed fittings to trickle conspicuously.

The fluid obtained is distributed to houses in the area near the plant through a primary circuit. The system that distributes the fluid inside each individual house is called the secondary circuit, and this is where the quality of the press fitting is a factor. Advantages of press fittings in creating secondary circuits for district heating systems include reduced installation

Even if not able to use renewable sources directly, district heating is one of the least ‘wasteful’ climate control systems in terms of energy consumption and atmospheric emissions. For the most part making use of dynamic energy transformation processes necessary for

In-line inspection in industrial mills THE Phased Array Company (TPAC) has introduced its new technology CTUT, based on an advanced phased array electronic platform, OEM-PA by Advanced OEM Solutions. CTUT is used for in-line inspection in industrial mills that manufacture tube and pipe, round bar and square bar. or even commonly used phased array techniques. The customer is able to benefit from ultra-fast scanning speeds with the ability to detect smaller flaws. For example, with CTUT it would be possible to achieve speeds of 2m/s with bar diameters of 120mm or less, even detecting 1mm FBH or smaller, which conventional phased array cannot achieve. The main benefit of CTUT is the opportunity to improve sensitivity and inspection speed at the same time, where traditionally these must be traded- off when working with conventional UT This technology is compatible in concept with various mechanical

configurations including retrofitting systems already in place. The demonstration of this technique will show the ability of the system to detect 1mm diameter FBHs in a 156mm diameter bar at a throughput speed of more than 1m/s. It will also simultaneously show the detection of 5mm long/0.3mm deep longitudinal notches. The Phased Array Company – USA Website: www.aos-ndt.com
