Developing and building annealing plants for tube

KüHN Tec Switzerland has been developing and building annealing plants for the tube industry for the last 25 years. From the outset, the design philosophy was to have an annealing plant system that would take into account future developments of welding techniques. Pioneering the system of modular cooling sections with contact tube cooling inserts, the design has become a reference benchmark in the tube industry. With this system, not only was it made possible to shrink the length of the cooling section significantly, it has also opened the possibility to adapt the system to the user’s present or future output requirements. By installing a Kühn Tec plant with modular cooling system, the tube manufacturer also plans for future developments. If at any later stage the welding system is improved or converted from TIG to Laser, the annealing plant can follow suit by incorporating additional modular cooling elements to cater for the higher mill output.

A and surveillance system ensures safe and automatic plant operation. Separate sets of cooling inserts for pre-tooling can be supplied in order to speed up dimension changeover time. Plants suitable for stainless or titanium tube bright annealing are available for sophisticated control

tube dimensions from 6.5 mm (1/4") up to ø114mm (4½") and input power ranging from 50-1'200 kW. Kühn Tec – Switzerland
