Focus on application- orientated solutions
2016 5 – 7 October Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre Goregaon (East), Mumbai, India
FOR more than 40 years Rofin’s focus when develop- ing laser technology has consistently been on applica- tions, allowing the company to offer a comprehensive product portfolio for the entire spectrum of industrial laser material processing. At this year’s LASYS, the international trade fair for system solutions in the laser material processing segments, the laser specialist focused on application- orientated system solutions.
The Rofin Performance Unlimited manual welding laser, which made its debut at the fair, showed visitors just how easily and simply long or bulky parts – such as those used in the manufacture of surgical instruments or endoscopes – can be welded. In addition to this, Rofin demonstrated precision welding of micro contours at its flexible laser workstation, the MPS Compact, using the StarFiber P long pulse fibre laser. Visitors to the CombiLine Basic laser workstation were able to experience laser marking of free-form surfaces live. A selection of laser beam sources across the entire technology spectrum – from picosecond and femtosecond lasers to low- power sealed-off CO 2 lasers, and diode lasers to high-power fibre lasers – rounded off the laser solutions offered at the Rofin exhibition stand. “We enjoyed meeting our customers and users in Stuttgart again this year as well as being able to present our new products and application solutions, which include precision cutting of glass and sapphire using ultrashort pulse lasers,” said Thomas Merk, CEO and president of Rofin. Whether CO 2 , solid-state, fibre or diode lasers, from ultrashort pulse to CW operation, Rofin provides all of the decisive key technologies and covers the entire spectrum of industrial lasers. The product portfolio ranges from industry standard laser beam sources to compact all-in-one system solutions. The application areas for Rofin lasers are as broad as the product range. Rofin lasers are used for production in the automotive industry, aircraft construction, machine tool industry, manufacturing of electronics and semiconductors, in medical device technology, in photovoltaics, the packaging industry and plastic processing, in tool and mould making, and in jewellery design. Whether it is the use of high-power lasers in harsh industrial environments, filigree laser applications in the μm-range or laser marking on various materials, Rofin optimally meets all customer requirements in the field of laser technology.
