EWM opens new sales and technology site in Wittstock EWM AG is based in Germany and supplies arc welding technology. Due to customer demand it has opened a new site in Wittstock, Brandenburg. This means that EWM is able to meet the demand for welding equipment in north-east Germany. In the sales and technology centre, a one-of-a- kind in Germany, the family business provides a comprehensive range of welding technology as well as extensive consulting services to do with welding. As a technology partner for customers, EWM wants to develop innovative weld- ing processes and individual solutions for all welding production processes in a large area of application technology. Furthermore, the company is planning regular trade events and demonstrations of modern and future-thinking welding processes at the new site. “We want to be the greatest specialist welding shop in East Germany,” said Toralf Pekrul, manager of the EWM site in Wittstock. At present the family-run business already has a site in Brandenburg at the

town of Rathenow. With the opening of the large sales and technology centre, with a size of more than 2,000m 2 in Wittstock, the welding technology manufacturer continues its expansion. The complete solution provider of arc welding technology currently has 14 sites in Germany, ensuring useful proximity to customers and quick response times. Alongside an optimal transport network and 1,150m 2 of storage space, the new
premises in Wittstock provide lots of space for state-of-the-art technology. Application technology therefore plays a central role. In addition to the latest EWM welding machines, there are welding robots and automation components for practical applications available. EWM develops individual solutions with customers to optimise even complex welding manufacturing processes and systems. This means that the company performs extensive welding tests and metallurgical testing. Furthermore, the welding manufacturer has set up a large area for service and repair. EWM also placed great importance on designing the new building to be highly energy efficient as well as furnishing work spaces ergonomically. “In Wittstock, there will soon be training sessions, demonstrations and robotised welding days. EWM is initially starting with a team of 14 at the new site, with a medium-term plan to expand the number of workers up to 40. With our state-of- the-art premises we have built the perfect foundations for further growth. This way, we can assist our customers quickly and competently with all their welding needs,” said Mr Pekrul.
